Chapter 35: Escape to the Wax Museum

Chapter 35: Escape to the Wax Museum

When people face a sudden shock, they usually have two reactions.

The first type is to become wilted, with only one thought in mind, which is to find a place to hide and run as far as possible like a frightened rabbit.

There is also another type of anger that comes from being shocked. People who usually have a good temper will be frightened by something unexpected and the anger in their hearts will rise up immediately.

Liu Yonglu belongs to the latter. When he was in college a few years ago, he was dragged by his friends to play in a haunted house, but the result was... he waited in line for half an hour and only experienced it for three minutes.

He had only taken two steps inside when he gave a sweeping kick to the female ghost who suddenly got up, and since then he has been blacklisted by the haunted house.

When he looked up, he was facing the wax figure's lifeless smile.

"Here you go!"

Liu Yonglu roared without thinking, picked up the vase next to him, and with a "bang", he put all his strength into hitting the wax figure.

The wax figures are made of molten wax, which is not as strong as metal. Usually, this group of wax figures have to go out to carry out tasks assigned by Lewis, and they have never encountered such ruffians. Ordinary people would be frightened to death when they see the slow movements of the wax figures.

Liu Yonglu was not going to let it go today. He poured the bottle down, and a string of turbid dark liquid splashed in the air. The little girl's head flew to the corner of the wall with a "whoosh".

The other little girl had no time to catch Liu Yonglu. She walked over with stiff steps to pick up her sister's head.

Taking advantage of this gap, Liu Yonglu calmed down. He had heard Carol mention before that he should be careful of Lewis' wax figure, but he didn't expect it to be really alive!

The headless little girl was standing there at this time, grabbing around with her arms outstretched. Liu Yonglu seized the opportunity and kicked her again, causing her to fall backwards and hit her mother.

After temporarily dealing with the three enemies, Liu Yonglu took advantage of the fact that the little boy and his father were not there yet, ran away, broke open the study door, and rushed downstairs without looking back.

"Bang bang bang" In the empty wax museum exhibition hall, the most irritating sound was Liu Yonglu's dull footsteps.

"Da Da Da" was followed by the mechanical and light pursuit sounds of the five wax figures. There was no way they would let the intruder go so easily. They had to protect the study and complete their mission and go home. This was the instinctive contract that Lewis engraved deep in their souls with rings when he made them.

As he ran, Liu Yonglu felt something was wrong. At first, the footsteps of the wax figure were just behind him, but gradually, the rhythmic "tapping" sound came from behind, on both sides.

There were five of them, and this was a wax museum. They knew the route better than themselves, so they started to disperse and chase after them.

If I keep running like this, I will be caught by the wax figure sooner or later. No, I have to think of a way.

After running in a straight line, there is a big corner. At the corner there is a wax figure of a little boy. He is a shoe shiner, and he is squatting on the ground, posing as if he is shining shoes.

Liu Yonglu quickly sat on the chair opposite the little boy, crossed his legs, and pretended to be a wax figure of a customer. At the same time, he tried to breathe steadily and not make any sound.

Not long after, the two wax figures of sisters walked past him. The younger sister in front was still normal, but the older sister behind her was walking with her hands holding her head.

The head was held in the hands and was at the same level as Liu Yonglu who was sitting. Liu Yonglu could even feel the cold wax head slightly touching the hair on his temples.

Liu Yonglu didn't dare to look sideways. He stared at a line with his eyes crossed, trying hard not to make eye contact.

The two wax figures of the little girls hesitated for a few seconds, as if they were also wondering why the intruder suddenly disappeared.

Fortunately, no flaws were discovered at the moment, and the two continued searching forward. Liu Yonglu breathed a sigh of relief, thinking in his mind that he would wait for them to return to the study and then go out through the main door.

But the "da da da" wandering sound never stopped, and it sounded like this family of wax figures were wandering around in the wax museum. Liu Yonglu didn't know that what Lewis had engraved on the soul of the wax figure was a death order, and he would never go back until the intruder was found.

The longer Liu Yonglu waited, the more anxious he became, but in a corner where he was not paying attention, the wax figure of the child squatting in front of him began to move quietly.

At first, Liu Yonglu just felt someone touching his feet... Then he felt that his shoelaces were loosened, and later the shoe on that foot was taken off.

Oh my, Liu Yonglu was so angry. He was the thief who came in to steal things today. Could there be someone else like him? And he wanted to steal his shoes?

I lowered my head slightly and looked down, and saw the stiff, flattering smile of the wax boy. It turned out that the wax boy had taken off his shoes.

The little boy pointed to the newspaper under Liu Yonglu's butt. Liu Yonglu looked carefully in the moonlight and saw small words engraved on the blank space of the wax newspaper.

"kill me."

Kill you? If it was any other time, Liu Yonglu wouldn't mind helping out. He could just find a table leg and smash the wax figure. It would be a piece of cake. But it was impossible now. He didn't dare to move.

Liu Yonglu tried to give the child his friendliest smile.

"Wait until I get out of this situation and I'll give you some respect. Otherwise, I won't be beaten if I don't help you!" He shouted wildly in his heart.

But he didn't know whether it was because his eyes were not sincere enough, or because the wax figure had a flawed soul and its intelligence couldn't keep up, but the shoeshine boy ignored him and started to take off his socks.

What do you mean, at such a young age, do you have any special hobbies?

Just when Liu Yonglu was wondering, the little boy stretched the small brush in his hand towards the soles of Liu Yonglu's feet, and then an irresistible itch came from the soles of his feet.

What should Liu Yonglu do? He could only hold back his tears. He had never suffered such a loss since he traveled through time. He had always been the one to fool others, never the one to fool him. Liu Yonglu was shaking all over, trying hard to hold back his laughter, but it was not easy to hold back when someone tickled his soles. He held back for two minutes before he could no longer bear it. He took out a handful of coins from his pocket and threw them behind him.

Run while the five wax figures are distracted!

A few seconds after tossing the coin, he jumped up from his chair and laughed out loud, having a great time.

"Hahahaha" the unnatural neurotic laughter echoed in the wax museum.

He didn't even bother to put on his shoes and ran towards the entrance of the wax museum. He was really helpless this time. If he was caught, he would be dead!

Fortunately, he was lucky. When the little boy was tickling his feet, the five wax figures happened to stroll to a position far away from the gate. Liu Yonglu pushed open the door and ran out onto the street with one barefoot.

"Little guy, chase me, I'm home..." Liu Yonglu wanted to say a few crazy words and mock him, but he turned around.

Five wax figures, not one more, not one less, all followed.

When Liu Yonglu was sitting there assembling the wax figure just now, his whole body was tense. Then he went out for a 100-meter sprint, but he felt a little exhausted after only two steps.

I can't keep running like this, I have to think of a way to get rid of them.

While thinking of a countermeasure, Liu Yonglu saw a wisp of smoke coming from the front. He sniffed and smelled the cumin aroma of lamb skewers. Yes, the lamb kebab stall had not been closed yet.

With a sharp turn, Liu Yonglu turned into the alley next to him.

It was almost two o'clock at this time, and it was almost time for people to close the stall. There were no diners in front of the stall. There were only two cooks left standing in front of the grill, stirring the charcoal, probably checking whether there was any incomplete burning, so as to pick it out and use it tomorrow.

"You two stay at the back! I'll roast for a while!" Liu Yonglu's voice arrived before he did.

This shout startled the two barbecue chefs. What? Someone came to eat skewers at two o'clock?

One of the two was the man with a mustache at Charlie’s dinner party. He knew Liu Yonglu and knew that he was an important figure in the town. His boss had to bow and scrape whenever he saw him.

He didn't care why Liu Yonglu was barefoot and looked so disheveled. He pulled his apprentice to the back to pack up the other tools.

Liu Yonglu ran to the stall, took off his coat and threw it aside, then put on the dirty apron in front of the shelf. Suddenly, he had an idea and put the fake beard he took from his pocket on his face.

Only then did he breathe a sigh of relief, took out a handful of lamb skewers from the box and started grilling them.

Less than half a minute later, the five wax figures also caught up. They stood on the street in a daze. The person they were chasing was running on the street, but he disappeared in the blink of an eye.

After looking around for two minutes, I decided that the barbecue stall in front of me was the most suspicious.

But the smoke and dust were too heavy, and Liu Yonglu had put on a fake beard after his disguise. The eyesight of the five wax figures was already poor, and now they were even more uncertain.

Finally, the father and the little boy came over. When they got closer, they didn't say anything, but just stared at Liu Yonglu motionlessly.

"Hey, grilled lamb kebabs, real XJ grilled lamb kebabs."

Liu Yonglu pretended that everything was normal, sprinkling seasonings in his half-familiar foreign accent.

"Hey, let's have a hot skewer, WLMQ Ajiazhuang's lamb skewers."

While turning the skewers, he raised his eyes and glanced at the wax figures. The little boy wax figure looked at his father and obviously felt that the little mustache man grilling skewers looked a little familiar. After all, he made too much noise in the study just now, and these five wax figures had all seen his face.

"Do I look familiar to you? Have you been to WLMQ? WLMQ is very beautiful, with endless prairie..."

As Liu Yonglu was talking, he started to pass the mutton skewers around, but how could the wax figure take it? Liu Yonglu hinted and casually picked up the silver plate and started to fan the fire to grill the meat, thinking that if you two still don't believe me, I can only do a local dance...

But fanning the fire when grilling is a technical job. Liu Yonglu fanned twice and sparks flew up.

It was also because these two candles were unlucky. Just before the chef was about to close the stall, he turned over the charcoal, and the unburned layer at the bottom was turned over. The more Liu Yonglu fanned the fire, the bigger it got, but wax couldn't stand the burning.

The sparks caught fire as soon as they touched the two wax figures, lighting them into candles immediately, and water began to drip from them with a click.

The little boy and his father's wax figure no longer cared about whether they were intruders or not, they turned around and ran away with mechanical steps.

As they ran, they were carrying flames with them. In a panic, they bumped into the three women. Suddenly, three more flames rose on the street.

After the hot wax dripped, dark red smelly blood continued to flow down the legs of the wax figure. Liu Yonglu could even see the flesh and bones inside through the orange-red flame.

It turns out that these five wax figures have living people melted inside them!

They were howling and screaming at this time, the sound was harsh and weird, like the screams of humans before death or the low howls of monsters when they were wounded.

After leaving puddles of sticky, smelly liquid on the street, they headed towards their home, the wax museum. This was the vicious curse that Lewis had engraved on their souls when he made them into wax figures.

Regardless of whether the mission is accomplished or not, you must go home, return to that study, and wait to continue to be tortured by him forever.
