Chapter 170 The Man in Black at Midnight
It was a dark night and complete silence.
A black shadow leaped onto the roof, its shape as fast as a swallow.
After a few leaps and shuttles, he arrived at a dilapidated and remote courtyard. He landed on the ground with a light tap of his toes and glanced around with his sharp eyes.
Dressed in black and masked, he took advantage of the cover of night to grope his way around the patrols and arrived at his destination.
He came to the study window, opened it quickly, jumped in, rolled over, and landed quietly on the ground.
Then the man fumbled on the table for a while, then stared at the bookshelf behind him with sharp eyes and searched again.
On the bed, Di Ran suddenly opened his eyes and sat up. His deep eyes were sharp and cold in the darkness.
In the study, the man in black was rummaging through the cabinet.
Suddenly, a cold voice sounded from behind.
"What are you looking for?"
The man in black was startled and turned back suddenly.
There was a person standing not far behind her.
The cold face was gleaming in the moonlight, and the pair of dark eyes were as cold as a deep pool.
He was wearing a black robe, and he seemed to blend into the night, looking cold and dangerous.
"What are you looking for?"
When the man in black saw that he was discovered, his eyes turned slightly panicked, his whole body tensed up, and he shot a sleeve arrow towards Di Ran!
Di Ran's eyes turned slightly cold, and he quickly caught the incoming sleeve arrow with two fingers.
When I looked up, I saw that the man had already escaped through the window.
"Hey~"
The sharp sleeve arrow passed through the window and attacked the man in black!
"No~"
The fleeing man in black groaned, looked down at the arrow that pierced his shoulder, his pupils shrank slightly, and a look of shock flashed across his face.
"Come here, there's an assassin!"
"Protect the prince!"
There was a sound of hurried footsteps, and the man in black panicked a little. He looked back and saw that no one was chasing him.
He immediately covered his injured shoulder and tried to escape.
As soon as I walked into a yard, I was surrounded.
Bai Qi walked out from among the female guards, dressed in a white robe and armor, looking heroic, holding a sword in his hand, staring coldly at the man in black.
"Want to leave? Where to?" The man in black's eyes flashed sharply. He quickly pulled out the arrow from his shoulder and blood spurted out.
He used his clever strength to shoot the sleeve arrow back at Bai Qi, and rushed towards one of the female guards, as if trying to break through.
Bai Qi was slightly startled when he saw the sleeve arrow coming towards him, and raised his hand to block it with his sword.
"Pong~"
The sleeve arrow hit the sword, making a sound, and then flew off to the ground.
When Bai Qi saw the assassin trying to escape, his eyes became fierce and he raised his sword and shouted.
"Catch her!"
The female guards quickly stepped forward to arrest the man. The trapped man in black had a cold look in his eyes. He drew the soft sword at his waist and started fighting with the female guards.
"Qiang~"
"Bang~"
The man in black was quite skilled in martial arts and fought with the female guards for dozens of rounds without losing the upper hand.
But he was injured after all, and with the intense exercise, the wound on his shoulder bled even more.
Finally, the man in black saw that he was no match for his opponent, so he fired several hidden arrows, injuring several female guards, and leaped onto the roof.
Bai Qi was just about to continue chasing after him when he heard Di Ran's voice from behind.
"Bai Qi~"
Bai Qi was stunned for a moment, then turned back: "Master~"
Why not let her continue chasing?
Di Ran walked slowly towards them wearing a black robe, his cold face expressionless.
"Don't chase poor bandits."
Bai Qi frowned: "But..."
Di Ran glanced at her, his eyes slightly turned, and he inadvertently caught a glimpse of a black object in the grass, his eyes narrowed slightly.
He walked over and picked up the object.
"Master, this is..."
Di Ran stared at the black badge in his hand, his eyes fell on the two blood-red characters "Cabinet" on it.
His eyes flashed a dark color, and the corners of his lips curled up in a cold manner.
