Chapter 96: Young Wei Xu

Chapter 96 Young Wei Xu

Jiang Yu took a fancy to the sugar paintings on the roadside stall. She let go of Yuan Heng's sleeve and reached for her waist, pulling out a low-grade spirit stone that had been stuffed there at some point. She bought two rabbits and butterflies with simple lines, and when she turned around, she met a pair of eyes that were staring straight at her.

The child looked at her, then at the sugar painting in her hand, and after meeting Jiang Yu's gaze, he turned and ran away.

Jiang Yu was stunned for a moment, and suddenly handed the butterfly in her hand to Yuan Heng who was waiting behind her. She lowered her head and bit the head of the sugar-painted rabbit into pieces. She ate the rest of the sugar painting in three or two bites. Without waiting for Yuan Heng to lower his head to taste the sweetness, she grabbed the man's wrist again and ran forward.

"I know where this is!" She said vaguely, casually crushing the candy in her mouth, and said excitedly, "This is Wei Xu's inner demon fantasy world!"

She grabbed Yuan Heng's hand and hurriedly chased after the boy. She quickly chewed the sugar painting into pieces and swallowed it carelessly.

She must not have made a mistake. Although the child's expression was quite different from the Wei Xu in her memory, she had been looking at this face since she was seven or eight years old, so she would definitely not have made a mistake.

The child just now was definitely Wei Xu, and this place must be Wei Xu’s inner demon fantasy.

She grabbed Yuan Heng and hurriedly chased the child's back into an alley. It was clearly a dead end, but they did not see the little boy.

Jiang Yu walked to the end in disbelief and looked around. He turned around and looked at Yuan Heng. He shrugged unwillingly and said with a smile: "I didn't expect that the two of us who have practiced for so long can't catch up with a child."

Yuan Heng agreed with her and raised the corner of his mouth, looking around with confusion.

In fact, it wasn’t like they didn’t catch up, but that the little boy disappeared out of thin air.

Jiang Yu sighed and could only walk out of the alley.

She didn't know much about Wei Xu's past before he was adopted by the Demon Lord. She only knew that he didn't have a good life before, so she didn't know the name of this small town or which road led to where. She was so focused on finding Wei Xu when he was a child that she didn't notice Yuan Heng behind her turning the sugar painting in his hand thoughtfully.

Jiang Yu hurriedly walked out of the alley and glanced at the bustling crowd, but did not find the person she was looking for. But just as she was about to turn around and call Yuan Heng to come out and look somewhere else, a familiar figure ran towards her.

No matter what Ren Jiangyu's attitude and opinion towards the identity of the savior, at this moment she wanted to sigh jokingly, he was worthy of being created by heaven, he didn't even have to spend much effort to find someone.

She stood there, watching the frightened little Wei Xu hurriedly run around her into the alley, bump into Yuan Heng's arms, and then retreat in panic. When he realized that he had run into a dead end, his face turned pale and he ran desperately towards the intersection.

Unfortunately, Jiang Yu followed him into the alley and met his eyes when he turned around. Before she could give him a kind and reassuring smile, she turned around because of his gaze that quickly fell behind her and the fear that gradually crept onto his face.

The entrance to the alley was suddenly blocked by people. A group of people who looked like servants surrounded the alley, holding sticks of various sizes in their hands. Their eyes swept past Jiang Yu and fell on Wei Xu who was shivering behind her.

Jiang Yu looked back at him and frowned slightly.

He looked like he was going to cry.

The leading servant looked at Jiang Yu and Wei Xu suspiciously, and said arrogantly: "Outsiders, eh? Come out! Don't block the road!"

Wei Xu hid behind Yuan Heng subconsciously after hearing his roar. After a moment, as if he remembered something, he stood out from behind him tremblingly, biting his pale lips.
