"I already told you, I'm not your sister"
Victoria's fingertips sank deep into the moonstone window frame.
The unique resin scent of the thousand-year-old tree, carried along with the night dew, poured into the bedroom.
The crystal chandelier made a crisp sound like wind chimes in the evening breeze, cutting Victoria's silhouette into fragmented spots of light.
The star vines hanging from the dome of the palace suddenly moved without wind.
"Don't call me that anymore"
Victoria let go of the cracked window frame, and when she turned around, her moon-white robe cast a galaxy-like glow on the crystal floor tiles.
"Also, I'm tired, please go back."
Her voice was cold, as if she wanted to isolate herself from all warmth.
Inside the bedroom, the moon-white robe slid across the crystal floor tiles like ripples, and eventually returned to calm.
However, the Elf Princess had no intention of leaving.
"Haha, don't be so heartless."
She sat down by herself, not considering herself an outsider at all.
"I have important information to tell you."
"Important information?"
Victoria frowned slightly, a hint of doubt in her voice.
"Your child seems to be sealed"
The Elf Princess' words were like a sharp blade in the cold wind, piercing Victoria's heart.
Surprisingly, however, Victoria's expression didn't change much.
"You don't seem worried?"
A hint of doubt flashed in the elf princess's eyes.
"Worry. As a mother, how can I not worry?"
Victoria gently stroked her chest, where was hidden the tenderness and tenacity that only a mother possesses.
"but"
She changed the subject, her eyes revealing determination and trust.
“I trust my children more than I worry about them.”
"Oh!"
The elf princess chuckled, seemingly infected by Victoria's determination.
“That’s really enviable!”
There were mixed emotions in her eyes.
"but"
The Elf Princess suddenly changed the subject, her tone revealing a hint of profound meaning.
"Honestly speaking, I really didn't expect you to perform like this."
Her eyes were gleaming, as if she was recalling some distant past.
"You can actually make those arrogant blood elves submit to you. You are really capable!"
There was a barely perceptible hint of admiration in the Elf Princess' words.
However, Victoria did not respond directly.
"I don't know what you are talking about"
Her voice was calm and firm, without the slightest wavering.
The elf princess chuckled, not seeming to care about Victoria's answer.
"Ahh, is this something I can't say?"
She covered her mouth and chuckled, with a playful gleam in her eyes.
"Well, I wish you could find someone to kill the rest of your opponents and then stand in front of me."
The Elf Princess stood up and prepared to leave.
But just as she was about to leave, she suddenly stopped and an elusive smile appeared on the corner of her mouth.
"correct"
Her voice was like a whisper in the night wind, but it had an indescribable penetrating power.
"Aiyana Blake is dead"
"What did you say?"
Victoria's eyebrows shot up, and her voice revealed an undisguised shock.
The Elf Princess' words were like a huge rock thrown into a calm lake, causing ripples.
"I'm just reminding you"
Her voice was low and meaningful.
"Aiyana was with you in the end"
"As everyone knows, Aiyana has been competing with you for the King's Seed recently."
"So, you say"
Her gaze was like a sharp sword, piercing Victoria's heart. "Does her death have anything to do with you?"
Inside the bedroom, the air seemed to freeze at this moment.
“I didn’t kill him.”
Victoria's voice was low and firm, her eyes clear, without the slightest evasion.
“I didn’t kill her in the end.”
“How gentle!”
There was a barely perceptible hint of mockery in the Elf Princess' tone.
“We are compatriots”
Victoria reiterated.
“My fellow countrymen!”
The Elf Princess chuckled, as if she had a different understanding of this word.
"I understand, and Aiyana's death doesn't matter to me."
Her words were cold.
"In my eyes, she's already dead."
"but"
The Elf Princess' voice rang out again, like a whisper in the cold wind.
"Will others believe what you said?"
Her gaze was as sharp as a sword, piercing deep into Victoria's soul.
"Although on the road to the king, except for the true king, the death of the chosen king is already predetermined."
"But, do the elves believe your words? Do the priests believe your words?"
Her words hit Victoria like a barrage of bullets, and every word was as heavy as lead.
The elf princess waved her hand gently, as if she was saying goodbye to an insignificant person.
"Your so-called gentleness is not on the kingly path at all"
"In this world where the strong prey on the weak, your kindness will only become your weakness."
"Well, congratulations on making it to the end."
Her voice was low and meaningful, as if every word contained some unsolved mystery.
Watching the elf princess's gradually receding back, Victoria felt increasingly heavy-hearted.
Her thoughts drifted back to her last meeting with Aiyana.
"Victoria, do you think this royal election is meaningful?"
Aiyana's voice sounded particularly weak in the wind and rain.
"Elves, do you need a king?"
There was a complex emotion flickering in Aiyana's eyes, which was confusion about the future and doubt about fate.
"Leah, I'm really not fit for the king, please work hard for my share as well."
Memories came flooding back, and tears welled up in Victoria's eyes.
Although the two elves have been fighting for the King's Seed for the past few months.
However, Aiyana never really seemed to want to win; her participation was more like fulfilling her responsibility as an elf.
Perhaps, she disagreed with the existence of the Chosen King even more than she did.
The breeze blew, ruffling her snow-like long hair.
Victoria opened the window and jumped down without hesitation.
She had to find out who killed Aiyana.
Whether it's for himself or Aiyana.
She always felt that there was something behind this.
Victoria's thoughts were like flying snowflakes as she rushed through the night.
who is it?
Who was the one who secretly took away Aiyana's life?
Could it be another chosen one?
But, apart from the Elf Princess, who else can defeat the powerful Aiyana silently?
Also, why kill Aiyana?
All of this is like a fog, making it impossible to see the truth.
. . .
And in another room.
The Elf Princess was looking through the window at Victoria as she walked away.
"So"
The corners of her mouth curled up into a smile, as if she was enjoying a wonderful drama.
"Who will become king first?"
She whispered to herself, her voice revealing amusement and anticipation.
"Is it that little guy, or my sister?" (End of this chapter)
