Chapter 15: Yukinoshita Yukino: Incomprehensible

After briefly finishing these matters, Yukinoshita Haruno, now calm, drove Su Rui and Shizuka Hiratsuka back to her home.

"Since you're here, come on up and sit for a bit; I'll cook today!"

Shizuka Hiratsuka seemed very happy. After getting out of the car, she didn't bring up the previous matters. She waved to the Yukinoshita sisters and then walked upstairs.

Yukino Yukinoshita glanced at her sister. Her sister winked at her, then led the way upstairs, not intending to pull her sister up with her.

"Wait, Big Sister!"

A somewhat resentful Yukino Yukinoshita quickly followed her sister's footsteps, wondering what Su Rui, who was walking with Shizuka Hiratsuka ahead, was thinking.

Yukinoshita Haruno looked at her sister's expression and couldn't help but smile, gently bumping her with her shoulder. She leaned in close to her ear, smiling, and asked,

"What are you thinking, Yukino? Being rescued by such a handsome big brother must have made your heart flutter, right?"

"...Only shallow people like Big Sister would think of such things first."

Yukino Yukinoshita glared coldly at her sister, but the blush on her cheeks made Yukinoshita Haruno smile even more happily:

"Oh my, oh my, you're blushing, and Yukino is still trying to argue?"

"Shut up, I'm happy because I just escaped death."

A hint of panic entered Yukino Yukinoshita's tone. She no longer paid attention to her sister, who was winking at her, and quickened her pace, walking a little behind Su Rui and Shizuka Hiratsuka, avoiding Yukinoshita Haruno behind her.

Soon, after entering the room, Yukinoshita Haruno couldn't help but comment on her former teacher's living situation:

"Shizuka, I know you're quite uninhibited, but this living situation is really a bit of a mess."

Yukino Yukinoshita glanced at the few pieces of underwear casually left on the sofa, said nothing, and just quietly shifted her gaze.

"Hmph, anyway, I'll be in charge of dinner tonight. You guys can watch TV outside for a while and wait!"

A blush appeared on Shizuka Hiratsuka's cheeks. She reached for the underwear on the sofa, tossed it into her bedroom, and then walked towards the kitchen.

But halfway there, she was stopped by Yukinoshita Haruno, who had followed with small steps and wrapped her arm around her:

"Alright, Shizuka, let me handle dinner. I'm also very good at cooking. You should spend more time chatting with Su Rui."

Yukinoshita Haruno smiled as she persuaded Shizuka Hiratsuka to let her take over the kitchen, and then whispered in Shizuka Hiratsuka's ear:

"Yukino is a bit withdrawn, please help take care of her, Shizuka."

Then, Shizuka Hiratsuka stopped, glanced at Yukinoshita Haruno's retreating back as she entered the kitchen, awkwardly ran a hand through her hair, and then turned to look at Su Rui and Yukino Yukinoshita, who were sitting on the sofa, each playing on their phones.

Oh, Yukino wasn't playing on her phone. After glancing at the time, she took out a book from her schoolbag, seemingly intending to do her homework.

Shizuka Hiratsuka looked at Yukino Yukinoshita, who was doing her homework, and suddenly her eyes lit up. She walked over to Su Rui and patted him on the shoulder:

"Su Rui, you don't have a job, do you?"

"Why do you ask? Do I need a job?"

Su Rui retorted warily. Without waiting for Shizuka Hiratsuka to finish, he had already guessed that she definitely wanted him to do something.

"Nothing, I just think you should find something to do, like coming to my school and being my teaching assistant, or a life skills teacher or something."

Shizuka Hiratsuka leaned in close to Su Rui, blocking Yukino Yukinoshita's view from the other side, but allowing the girl, who was writing her homework with her head down, to listen to her conversation with Su Rui more brazenly.

"No, I refuse. My life is quite good now. I don't need to be some kind of life skills teacher, and I'm not interested in Japanese school life either."

Su Rui's words immediately made Shizuka Hiratsuka a little unhappy. She feigned dissatisfaction, tightly wrapped her arms around Su Rui's neck, and spoke in the tone of a yakuza thug threatening a passerby:

"What are you talking about? Is there something wrong with Japanese school life? Even you can't just casually express your opinions, can you?"

Su Rui just looked up into Shizuka Hiratsuka's eyes and said in a calm tone:

"Then tell me about the cliques in Japanese schools that ostracize introverted people, and school bullying and such. Have these problems been solved in Japan?"

Shizuka Hiratsuka stiffened a bit, her tone somewhat hesitant: "But, these problems can't be solved in just a few words, and these problems exist all over the world, right?"

"You're right, but just because problems exist doesn't mean there are no problems. I just don't want to go because of these problems."

"Was your previous school very good then?" Shizuka Hiratsuka suddenly became energetic: "Speaking of which, have you even been to school?"

"I've already graduated from university. Where I'm from, tsk, not graduating from university is like the sky falling."

Su Rui shook his head unhappily, not wanting to bring up these matters. Shizuka Hiratsuka, however, found it amusing and nudged him with her backside, saying jokingly:

"It seems your previous school life wasn't that great either, Su Rui, so why are you complaining about Japanese schools?"

"Are you an idiot?"

Su Rui looked at Shizuka Hiratsuka in confusion: "Just because I had to eat * before doesn't mean I want to eat it, and I'm not the kind of person who has to choose between two piles of *. I can choose not to."

Shizuka Hiratsuka was about to say something else when suddenly, Yukino Yukinoshita's somewhat cool voice sounded from beside them:

"Actually, life skills teachers in schools usually aren't in charge of much. If there's something, students can also ask other teachers for help."

"Exactly, exactly!" Shizuka Hiratsuka's eyes lit up. She then gently patted Su Rui's hand, speaking in the strange aunt-like tone of someone trying to entice an innocent young boy:

"Just come, anyway, you can leave whenever you don't want to do it, but if you have this position, you can come to school to find me anytime."

"Even without this position, I can come to school to find you. Who can stop me?"

"But this way, you can move around more conveniently, and at school, you can meet more beautiful, youthful girls!"

Yukino Yukinoshita quietly withdrew her gaze. Even with her head down, the confusion and bewilderment on her face were very obvious. She really couldn't understand why Shizuka Hiratsuka-sensei seemed to be pushing Su Rui away. Did she like it this way?

However, the girl, focused on her homework, said nothing more, just listened quietly, completing her homework as she listened.
