Kyoto is, as always, a bustling city.
It is home to hundreds of millions of people and boasts one of the world's largest metropolitan areas.
On this land, worldly desires never cease. All obsessions and greed are born here.
In the comfortable office of the Takeno Zaibatsu headquarters, located high above the city, a woman in black was swirling a glass of red wine, calmly gazing at the bustling scene outside.
Her figure was elegant, her face stunning. Few could awaken from the bewitching depths of her eyes, inevitably succumbing to their allure.
"Revenge, revenge."
A gurgling sound came from the woman's abdomen, and if one listened closely, they could hear faint whispers.
"Foolish," the woman said coldly, taking a sip of red wine.
"The reason you failed is because you were too eager. I will not follow in your footsteps. I will gradually take control of this entire Kyoto."
"Absurd joke."
"If not for us, you would still be a lowly dishwasher."
"This is our power, this is the power of Akamujina."
"You are merely a fragment of Akamujina; you are nothing. Do what you are supposed to do and do not attempt to violate the oath you swore."
Although the woman's mouth was moving, the words she spoke were a mix of several voices.
A turbid male voice, a shrill female voice, and a hoarse whisper. She was like a ventriloquist, constantly talking to herself.
After a long while, the office finally fell silent.
The woman clenched her hands tightly, her eyes filled with disgust.
"Sooner or later…"
Her muttering was interrupted by a knock on the door. The woman composed herself and sat properly on the chair.
"Come in."
"Lady Yagami, your people have arrived."
"Let them in," the woman said slowly. The secretary who entered respectfully withdrew, and then several men in black suits walked in.
The men in black placed the box they were carrying on the table and stood respectfully to either side.
The woman's slender hand gently caressed the box, and a satisfied smile appeared on her face. She gently opened the box and looked at the contents.
It was a still-beating heart, but the surface of the heart was already covered with tender scales. Even separated from the body, this heart was still vibrant and powerful.
The woman placed her hand on it, feeling the heartbeat. A look of contentment appeared on her face, and after a while, she looked at the men standing on either side.
"You have done well, my servants. This is the gift I bestow upon you."
The woman stretched out her hand, and several wisps of light smoke flew towards the men.
Within that smoke, faint human faces could be seen, all emitting silent cries of pain.
The men in black knelt down, allowing the smoke to surge into their nostrils. Their bodies trembled slightly, and at this moment, they all seemed extremely excited. After the smoke was completely inhaled, the men in black's bodies made cracking sounds, and they gradually grew taller and stronger.
The woman looked at her masterpiece with satisfaction, and after admiring it for a moment, she shifted her gaze to the box. She picked up the heart and examined it closely.
"Truly a beautiful thing," the woman smiled.
She slowly opened her mouth and stuffed the heart inside. Allowing the blood from the heart to spill out, she slowly devoured it like a glutton.
Her eyes rolled back, and black lines erupted on her face. Tiny scales appeared on her skin, and she collapsed onto the chair like a snake.
The office gradually fell silent, and after a long while, the woman's body began to twitch. As the movements grew more violent, even the chair was knocked aside.
She lay limply on the ground, her long legs already transformed into a snake's tail.
A thunderclap resounded, and the pedestrians walking on the street were startled. They looked at the gloomy sky, but didn't react much.
Life continued as usual, and the crowds jostled past Jiang Wen.
Bai Jing opened one eye, glanced at the sky, and continued to sleep soundly.
"Looks like she's quite arrogant," Bai Jing muttered.
Jiang Wen rubbed Bai Jing's head, only smiling without speaking. As the gentle drizzle fell, he was not in a hurry.
Unseen by anyone, when the rain fell on him, it silently dissolved.
"This demon is so rampant, aren't you going to do something about it, husband?" Bai Jing teased.
"To make it destroy itself, one must first make it go mad. I'll see what kind of thing can be born if all the lungs of Akamujina are gathered."
"You're really patient," Bai Jing said grumpily, and then fell silent.
Jiang Wen returned to his residence and heard Yao Gu's exaggerated voice from afar.
"It's Lord Akamujina! This is Lord Akamujina's power! She's reviving! What to do! What to do! If Lord Akamujina knows that I've betrayed her, she will definitely tear me to pieces!"
"Grandpa Yao Gu, you've been chattering for almost twenty minutes," Li Mu's helpless voice came.
"Is this a small matter?! You brat don't even know that disaster is imminent! As long as Lord Akamujina revives, we're all finished!"
"Is it that scary?" Li Mu asked curiously.
"You haven't seen Lord Akamujina's power, you don't understand. Lord Akamujina can be ten thousand meters tall! Her cry is enough to plunge you mortals into nightmares. If she rolls around in this city, she can destroy half of it!" Yao Gu said in horror, seemingly seeing the moment when Akamujina displays her divine might.
"But, we have Brother Jiang. Didn't you say he's very powerful?"
"Oh right… Grandpa, I almost forgot. There's also that great god…"
The room fell silent, and Jiang Wen opened the door with a smile and walked in.
Li Mu and Yao Gu, who were chatting on the sofa, both looked at him and then stood up.
"Brother Jiang, you're back?"
"Yeah, things are almost done. I think we can go back in a few days," Jiang Wen nodded.
"That's great!" Li Mu excitedly punched the air. Then, as if he had thought of something, he quickly said to Jiang Wen. "Brother Jiang, Grandpa Yao Gu said he discovered Akamujina's traces."
"What discovery, isn't it obvious!" Yao Gu said loudly. "Immortal Jiang must have discovered Akamujina's traces long ago, but was just waiting for an opportunity."
"You're right," Jiang Wen said with a smile. "Don't worry, with me here, there won't be chaos."
"Reassuring words," Yao Gu said flatteringly.
"Enough about that, how are things with her?"
"It's all been arranged."
"Then let's go take a look tomorrow. Youkai Mou, I'm really looking forward to meeting it."
