Chapter 82: No Escape for Fools

Chapter 82: No Escape for Fools

"Sorry, please make way!"

Bruce struggled to squeeze into the crowd and saw the scene of being surrounded.

His heart sank instantly.

A female student closed her eyes, her life or death unknown. Professor McGonagall had arrived and held her in her arms.

Bruce knew this girl, she was in the same grade as him, from Gryffindor House, and her name seemed to be -

"Lavender Brown," Katoom said softly.

A very cheerful little girl who likes to express her feelings through body language and has the innocence and romance that belongs to her age.

Someone was crying nearby. It was Lavender's friend Parvati Patil.

"We were just separated for a while!" Parvati sobbed. "We were just chatting and she said she had someone she liked."

Bruce looked at Lavender on the ground in silence.

She closed her eyes, breathed evenly, with a smile on her lips, quiet and eerie.

It didn't look like he had been attacked at all, just like he was asleep.

But Professor McGonagall had tried every possible means, but failed to wake her up from her dream.

At this time, Dumbledore came, followed by several teachers, including Snape, Flitwick, Sprout and other professors, but Lockhart, who loved to join in the fun, was not there.

The crowd naturally parted to make way for the teachers to pass.

"Minerva, let me see."

Dumbledore leaned over, muttered something strange, and tapped Lavender with his wand, but there was no response.

Lavender still had her eyes closed, showing no signs of waking up.

"It's a very powerful sleeping spell."

Dumbledore's eyes flickered, and he stood up. "But it doesn't matter. I have a solution. It only takes a little time!"

The people around instantly breathed a sigh of relief, feeling fortunate that they had such a knowledgeable principal.

At this time, Katum said in Bruce's ear -

"Dumbledore can't do anything. He is just trying to calm people down."

"I can see it."

Bruce whispered.

What kind of spell is this that even Dumbledore can't break?

Bruce raised his head and looked at the words on the wall - Ravenclaw's Chamber of Secrets has been opened.

Only then did he see that there was actually a line of small words below, but it was just blocked by the crowd.

"There is no liberation for fools."

Fool? Liberation?

At this moment, an idea flashed in Bruce's mind.

For some reason, he suddenly thought of the Defense Against the Dark Arts class in the morning and Lockhart's riddle-like words -

"What can't be asked for, what can't be let go, in my opinion, such people are all fools..."

"Most people live for their own obsessions..."

"If you ever feel lost, just think of my smile..."

Smile!

Bruce turned his head suddenly and looked at the strange smile on Lavender's face.

With a bang, his thoughts were instantly opened.

Lockhart has a problem!

……

Bruce took Katoom and walked along the third floor corridor towards Lockhart's office.

He knocked on the door, but no one answered.

"Open the Alaho hole!"

Bruce opened the door directly with the unlocking spell.

Lockhart was inside, pacing around the office, looking restless.

He was visibly startled when the door opened.

When he saw that the person coming was Bruce, he breathed a sigh of relief, but visible anger appeared on his face.

"Student Wayne, your behavior is so rude!"

"I knocked on the door."

Bruce turned his back and closed the door.

"Professor, I have a question for you."

He drew out the Supreme Wand and walked closer to Lockhart, "I hope you can answer truthfully, and we can exchange our true hearts.

“By the way, before coming here, I have cast various defensive spells and counter-spells on myself, which can at least block a few attacks.

"There is one more little magic. If you attack me, Dumbledore will get the news immediately!" Lockhart could hardly maintain his image.

He forced a smile and said, "Why would I attack you?"

Having said that, he still raised his wand tremblingly.

"Except your weapons!"

Bruce took the initiative and knocked Lockhart's wand away.

Lockhart screamed and squatted on the ground trembling.

"No! No!" he said in great fear, "Don't pierce my heart with a spike!"

Bruce's expression suddenly became a little strange.

That's it?

Did I find the wrong person?

Also, why was his first reaction that he would use the Heart-piercing Technique?

Was he tortured by the Cruciatus Curse?

Bruce grabbed Lockhart by the collar and pointed the Supreme Wand at his throat -

"It seems like you feel guilty!"

"I didn't! I'm really innocent!"

Lockhart was about to cry, "I know something happened. Did a student die? It wasn't me! I'm a victim too!"

Bruce pressed the Supreme Wand a little deeper: "What's going on? Tell me clearly!"

"I said! I said!"

Lockhart had no backbone at all and chose to surrender directly.

After Bruce let go, he fell to the ground, crying and saying -

"I really don't know anything. You must have come to me because of what I said in class? You are smart, but you use your intelligence in the wrong place!

"Those are not what I wanted to say. Someone taught me to say them. I'll show you the evidence. I'll show you the evidence!"

Lockhart stumbled, trying to open the drawer of his desk.

Bruce stopped him directly and used the unlocking spell to open the drawer himself.

During the whole process, he kept Lockhart in front of him to prevent any traps.

Fortunately, there was no such thing. There was only a stack of parchment inside, and the top sheet had a few lines of text written on it, which were exactly what Lockhart had said in class.

"Who taught you to say that?" Bruce shouted.

"I do not know!"

Lockhart was going crazy, "Just after I accepted the teaching invitation, a man broke into my house.

“That person was wearing a black robe, let alone his appearance, I didn’t even know if he was a man or a woman!

"He came up and snatched my wand and beat me up. If I hadn't tried my best to protect my face, my handsome appearance would have been ruined!"

Lockhart became more and more frustrated as he spoke, and by the end he was crying loudly.

"He also tortured me with the Cruciatus Curse to force me to do what he said. These are the words he made me say."

Seeing the other person like this, Bruce suddenly felt a little sympathy for Lockhart and thought that what he said might be true.

It's not because the story itself is flawless, but because of Lockhart's performance.

He looks so miserable. If this is acting, it is enough to kill all the current actors in seconds.

"You really didn't do it?"

Bruce retracted his wand.

"It really wasn't me! I promise you!"

Lockhart almost knelt down to Bruce, "I'm not a bad person. If this person shows up again, I will tell you the first time."

Ok.

Bruce took back his wand and decided to let Lockhart go for the time being.

"I'll keep an eye on you."

He finally said this, slammed the door and left.

at this time--

Lockhart stood up slowly, a sneer on his face.

"If I say it's not me, does that mean it's really not me?"

He said coldly, "As expected, children are children, so easy to deceive!"

boom--

The office door was kicked open and Bruce walked in again with his wand raised.

He shouted angrily, "Lockhart, I knew you were lying, now I've caught you!"

Lockhart did not hesitate.

He smiled calmly, raised his hands, and knelt on the ground.

"I'm sorry, I was wrong!"

If nothing goes wrong, this book will be on the shelves on the 21st, which is next Wednesday.
