Chapter 289: Gryffindor Class

Chapter 289 Gryffindor Class

Whenever Bruce returned to Hogwarts, he always felt relaxed.

Although this place, which is known as the safest place in the world, is always full of accidents, it is indeed safe compared to other places Bruce has been to.

Hufflepuff classes were mostly held together with Ravenclaw, and Bruce began to feel the power of the so-called rumors.

Some Ravenclaw girls would always talk to him about Ravenna intentionally or unintentionally, wanting to know more inside information.

Bruce saw how eager they were to share gossip, and sometimes even felt guilty, lamenting that he really didn't have any gossip to share.

Time passed, and soon it was Friday, and the Defense Against the Dark Arts class began.

All the students were eagerly looking forward to Godric's first class.

Some people have already started discussing that perhaps from now on, the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher will no longer need to be changed every year.

Granted, some say the position is cursed.

But who is more powerful, the curse or Godric Gryffindor?

The students had no problem with this.

After lunch on Friday, the students rushed to the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom. They were already early, but Godric was even earlier.

He sat next to the podium, leaning on a wooden sword with both hands, looking at every student with a smile.

"Okay kids, take a seat."

Gryffindor said, "No need to take out the textbooks. What I am going to teach you next is not written in the textbooks."

After hearing this, the students became even more excited and looked forward to what they were going to learn next.

Godric glanced at every student, and everyone fell silent.

Then they heard Godric clear his throat and say, "Now we start the class."

Godric stood up, leaned his wooden sword against the edge of the podium, and walked to the blackboard and wrote a few words on it.

It must be said that Godric's handwriting was as sloppy as his beard. Many young wizards stared wide-eyed and racked their brains, but still couldn't make out what the word was.

When Godric finished writing the last stroke, the magic words seemed to come to life in an instant. They jumped out of the blackboard and shuttled between the little wizards, causing screams.

Finally, as Godric turned around, the runes obediently gathered together again, suspended in the air and arranged in rows.

"Every symbol here represents a memory of mine. I was very young then, and I was obsessed with fighting against the dark magic."

Godric said, "Your task this semester is to experience all of these things through my perspective!"

After saying this, he waved his hand, and the runes jumped onto the little wizard's desk, moving closer, as if wanting the students to touch them.

Justin, who was sitting next to Bruce, plucked up his courage, reached out his hand, and touched the rune.

For a moment, he was in a trance. After a moment, he came to his senses and suddenly slumped in the chair, panting and sweating profusely.

"What did you see?" Gryffindor asked with a smile.

"Giant, giant..." Justin said breathlessly.

"Oh, that's it."

Godric said, "It was a mad giant. In the ninth century AD, it broke into the dwellings of humans and caused great panic. It took me a long time to deal with it."

"But that's too big..." Justin still couldn't believe it. What he saw was definitely not something that could be solved easily.

"As long as you think carefully, you will always find a way."

Godric said, "Besides, I left various clues in the runes. If you are careful enough, you will definitely be able to find a solution.

"Now, what are you waiting for, find a rune closest to you and touch them!"

This special teaching method was the first time that everyone had seen it. It allowed them to enter Godric's memory and solve crises that he had solved before.

It's novel, but exciting.

"By the way, I've left some little Easter eggs in my memory. They might be a lost ancient spell or an ancient potion recipe. If you find any, don't forget to share them with your classmates!"

Godric winked and signaled everyone to act quickly.

The young wizards hesitantly reached out their hands to touch the nearest rune, and one after another they entered a trance state.

Bruce was no exception. A rune was jumping on his desk. There seemed to be something wrong with this rune. It went straight towards Bruce from the beginning without any hesitation.

He felt something was wrong and looked up, only to find Godric looking at him mysteriously.

"Don't worry." Godric mouthed.

This is a memory he prepared specifically for Bruce.

Seeing Gryffindor's appearance, Bruce no longer hesitated. He reached out and touched the rune. In an instant, the rune seemed to turn into a black hole, sucking Bruce's consciousness in.

When Bruce opened his eyes, he found himself standing in a very familiar scene.

The stone bridge outside Hogwarts Castle.

strange?

Isn't it a memory of fighting the dark arts? Why is the scene in Hogwarts?

Before Bruce had time to think about it, he saw a hunchbacked old wizard walking towards him from the direction of the castle.

He was leaning on a snake-shaped scepter, looked old and frail, and had a monkey-like face.

Bruce recognized who he was immediately, Salazar Slytherin!

Salazar walked slowly past Bruce, muttering something, as if cursing something, but it was hard to hear clearly.

Suddenly, a red figure chased out from the castle.

"Salazar!"

The other party shouted and strode towards this side.

That was Godric Gryffindor, looking a lot younger than he is now.

Hearing the voice calling him from behind, Salazar not only did not stop, but instead sped up, as if the one chasing him was an absolute plague god.

but--

"Why doesn't he just Apparate away?"

Bruce was puzzled. "It's impossible to get rid of Gryffindor just by walking."

Indeed, Godric soon caught up with Salazar.

"Salazar! Is there anything that can't be said nicely?"

Godric stopped in front of Salazar and said with a distressed look, "We have fought together for so many years, are you going to leave just like that?"

"At this point, what else is there to say?"

Salazar shook his head and said, "Since you don't agree with my ideas, what's the point of forcing me to stay!"

"But we didn't drive you away!" Gryffindor's voice became anxious, "Hogwarts has four colleges, and there will always be four colleges! If you leave, Hogwarts will be incomplete!"

"That's your business! I have no attachment to Hogwarts anymore!" Salazar completely ignored Gryffindor's persuasion and was determined to leave, and no one could stop him.

But Gryffindor was determined and didn't want to see Slytherin leave like this.

The two of them were confronting each other like this, and it seemed like they were going to start fighting if they had a disagreement.

Then, in the fierce argument, I don’t know who said something excessive first, the situation finally escalated and the two began to argue fiercely.

Salazar drew out his snakewood staff, and Godric drew out his sword.

"You can keep me if you want." Salazar said coldly, "Then break my limbs and I will stay!"

"You can only think of such extreme methods."

Godric also said angrily, "Since you are so stubborn, I have no choice but to wake you up!"

Bruce stood aside and watched what happened.

Gryffindor and Slytherin, arguably two of the top wizards of this era, fought a ruthless battle on the stone bridge of Hogwarts.

The top of Salazar's snakewood staff flickered with a faint green light, and the light jumped as flexibly as a snake's tongue. When the staff was waved, it seemed as if an ancient snake was hissing.

He summoned black shadow snakes, which opened their bloody mouths and pounced towards Godric to bite.

The bodies of those snakes were enormous, each one was as thick as a tree trunk. As they swam in their winding ways, they pressed deep grooves into the ground.

Godric was not afraid at all. While he slashed at the shadow snake with his sword, he chanted a spell and thick thorn vines rose from the ground and wrapped around Salazar.

Their magics collided, causing ripples that spread out in all directions.

The stone bridge began to tremble slightly under the impact of magic, and clouds of dust rose from the gaps between the stones.

At this moment, the two men were completely overwhelmed by anger. They forgot their former friendship and only had opponents in their eyes.

The lake surrounding the castle was stirred up by magic, and the water seemed to be boiling, constantly churning out white foam.

The sky also became covered with dark clouds, and the originally clear sky was turned dark by the power of magic.

Flashes of lightning shuttled through the clouds, and occasionally one would strike the castle spire, splashing up a shower of sparks.

Bruce witnessed the fight between the two men with his own eyes. Somehow, he could clearly see all the details of the fight between the two men. Bruce heard all the spells they used and remembered them clearly.

He had a vague feeling that he wouldn't need to spend much effort to reproduce it completely.

"How about it?"

Suddenly, a voice spoke into Bruce's ear and he turned around to see the Gryffindor next to him.

Not the Godric in his memory, but his Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher.

At this moment, Gryffindor saw the two people fighting in his memory, and his eyes were filled with emotion. Even though more than a thousand years had passed, the memory was still so profound.

"I couldn't keep Salazar back then."

Godric said, "He eventually left, which is my lifelong regret."

Bruce didn't know how to comfort her. He held his breath for a long time and finally could only say, "My condolences."

"It's in the past."

Gryffindor sighed and waved his hand, and the scene in his memory became blurry.

Bruce felt it was a bit of a pity, after all, he still wanted to see what spells the next two people would use.

"More haste, less speed. You better digest this first."

Gryffindor said, "Wait until the next Defense Against the Dark Arts class, and I'll show you more memories?"

The next Defense Against the Dark Arts class?

Bruce woke up suddenly and found himself back in the classroom. His classmates were chattering around him, all with lingering fears on their faces, sharing with them the monsters they had seen in their memories.

Some students have already stood up and are packing their bags, preparing to leave.

"Why did you just wake up?"

Justin asked with concern, "What kind of monster did you encounter? It stayed in my memory for such a long time."

A class has ended.

"I……"

Bruce saw Gryffindor in the distance shaking his head slightly, indicating not to tell anyone what he saw.

This obviously treated Bruce as a child, and he certainly knew not to say these words to others.

“I saw a rat.”

Bruce threatened Justin, saying, "There are lots and lots of rats, all over the mountains and plains, rushing towards you like a tide. Many animals along the way were drowned and turned into bones in the blink of an eye!"

"Ah—stop talking!"

Justin felt physically uncomfortable and quickly told Bruce to shut up.

……

After class, Gryffindor's classmates were still talking about this lesson with great relish.

Because the scenes in their memories are too real, many students still cannot recover from the experience.

Bruce walked towards the hall with his textbook, intending to eat something first and then verify the spells he had learned in his memory.

There are two magic tricks that impressed him the most.

Salazar summons giant snakes, and Gryffindor creates thorny vines.

These two spells are by no means as simple as they seem. Bruce can realize that with just a little improvement, these two magics can have extremely terrifying effects.

Strictly speaking, these two spells are actually creating life.

One creates magical creatures, the other creates real plants.

……

When Bruce reached the foyer, he found he could go no further.

For a large crowd of students had gathered around a large notice erected at the foot of the marble staircase.

Bruce saw Hermione and the others in the crowd and walked over.

Before he could say hello, Bruce heard Ron's voice, reading aloud the words on the large notice.

“Representatives from each school for the Top Seven Tournament will arrive at 6pm tomorrow evening!

"Please prepare yourself to greet our guests and attend the welcome banquet."
