Chapter 147 Bruce and Cedric
Lupin had already leaned half of his body out of the compartment.
Then, he suddenly shouted, "Not good!"
Then he ran out, as if he had seen something extremely dangerous.
Bruce also stuck his head out at this time.
Then he saw a scene like in a horror movie——
In the flickering flame in Lupin's hand, he could see a tall cloaked figure standing in front of a cubicle not far away.
His face was completely hidden by the hood, and a hand stretched out from under the cloak, gray and glistening eerily, and seemed to be covered with slime and spots, like something that had died and rotted in the water...
Professor Lupin had already rushed in front of the monster and was blocking the door of the compartment, preventing it from entering.
Bruce heard Ron crying from inside the cubicle -
"Harry! Harry! What's wrong with you? Don't scare me!"
It’s over.
Bruce's heart tightened, the red-haired man was going to send the black-haired man away.
He wanted to rescue people immediately.
Not only him, but even the big black dog was dragging its trembling body and crawling towards the door.
Fortunately, Professor Lupin had already taken action. He drew out his wand and chanted the Patronus Charm.
An intense silver light instantly flashed from the tip of his wand, illuminating the entire carriage. The shadow monster seemed completely unable to endure this light. It used its pale hand to block in front of itself and quickly floated away like a wandering soul.
When the monster left, the lights in the carriage lit up instantly.
Everything that just happened seemed like just a nightmare.
Only Ron's sobbing voice still echoed in the carriage -
"Harry! My good brother! Hold on, I can save you!"
It looked like Ron wanted to take matters into his own hands and save Harry.
Now the problem is really serious.
"Woo-"
When the big black dog heard this, its reaction became even more intense, and its body dragged on the ground, looking extremely miserable.
Bruce couldn't bear it anymore, so he picked up the big black dog and walked towards Harry's carriage.
"Stop slapping him!"
Professor Lupin interrupted Ron's crying with dissatisfaction, "He just fainted!"
Ron's crying stopped instantly, and then Hermione and Bruce, holding the big black dog, arrived.
"It's okay, don't worry!"
Lupin said in Bruce's direction.
But it was clear that he wasn't talking to Bruce.
Harry was lying on the ground, twitching constantly, and looked really scary.
Fortunately, this state did not last long after the shadow monster was driven away. When Harry woke up slowly, he saw four human heads and a dog head standing in front of him, full of concern.
"hiss--"
He gasped, not sure if it was because of his mental state or the burning pain on his face.
"It's okay Harry."
Ron and Hermione helped Harry to his seat. Ron said, "You really scared us just now. Fortunately, Professor Lupin and I were here."
"I, what's wrong with me?"
Harry touched his face, still confused about the situation.
Then he suddenly realized: "That monster! Is that monster still there?"
"It's okay, we've chased him away."
Professor Lupin stood by the door and said, "Those are Dementors, the monsters from Azkaban."
"But I heard screams—"
At this time, Harry's whole body was pale and covered in cold sweat, only his face was relatively rosy.
All his friends came, except Hermione and Ron, Ginny and Neville, who were originally in the same compartment with him, also stayed with him and comforted him.
There was a snapping sound, which startled everyone who were still frightened.
Following the sound, I saw that Professor Lupin had taken out a large piece of chocolate as if performing magic.
"Eat some chocolate first!"
He said, "We should be arriving at Hogwarts soon, then we can go to the infirmary."
"Woo-"
The big black dog beside him cried out in pain.
Lupin immediately squatted down, stroked its fur, and whispered in a soothing voice, "They are all gone."
Ugh!
There was a trace of sympathy and sadness in Lupin's eyes. During more than ten years in prison, Sirius had been tortured by the Dementors, leaving him with such a deep psychological trauma.
As a friend, what can he do?
"it's okay no problem……"
Professor Lupin comforted the big black dog and stuffed another piece of chocolate into his mouth.
"You should also eat some chocolate to relax."
……
The train started again and soon arrived at Hogwarts.
The little wizards got off the bus one after another. The small platform was freezing cold and heavy rain was pouring down, chilling them to the bone.
Hagrid waved the lantern and led them to Hogwarts Castle. His huge body blocked a lot of wind and rain.
As Harry entered the castle, he heard a long, gloating voice.
"You fainted, Potter? Is that true? You really fainted?"
Malfoy elbowed Hermione out of the way and blocked Harry on the steps leading up to the castle, his face beaming with joy and his grey eyes gleaming with malice.
Before Harry could say anything, Bruce suddenly stepped forward and gave Malfoy a hard elbow.
Just like he did to Hermione.
"Get out of the way Malfoy!" Bruce said coldly, "If you make me late, then, believe me, you don't want to see me angry."
Malfoy was a little annoyed at first and wanted to teach the person who pushed him a lesson.
But when he saw it was Bruce, his angry expression suddenly became distorted and his entire nose arched up.
"Okay, Wayne, I knew you guys—"
Malfoy was about to say something when he suddenly came to his senses and swallowed the insulting word back.
"We what?" Bruce asked.
Malfoy's mind was spinning at this moment.
What he wanted to say just now was, you bunch of mudbloods, but facing Bruce's intimidation, he didn't dare to say it at all.
I want to change the word, but I don’t know what to change it to.
What word could make Malfoy feel superior, while suppressing Bruce and Hermione at the same time?
For a moment, he couldn't think of anything. "What are we, Malfoy?" Bruce asked without any intention of letting him go.
“You, you——”
Malfoy gritted his teeth, "You poor bastards! Just keep sticking together!"
After saying that, he sneered, walked away at a rapid pace.
Bruce and the other little wizards were left looking at each other in bewilderment.
"Does he know me so little?"
Bruce asked doubtfully, "When he said 'poor fellow' just now, was he scolding me or himself?"
Neville shook his head and murmured, "I don't know, maybe Malfoy is particularly uninformed?"
Harry was also a little confused at this time.
"How did Malfoy know about my fainting so quickly?"
He said, “News shouldn’t spread that fast, right?”
I fainted in the carriage, so no one should have seen it.
This time, it was Ron who shook his head: "I don't know, maybe Malfoy is particularly well-informed?"
……
Entering the interior of Hogwarts Castle, the Great Hall is still just as beautiful.
Harry was soon called away by Professor McGonagall, and everyone knew what happened on the train.
Bruce and Hermione separated and came to the Hufflepuff table.
"Good evening, Bruce."
The senior student next to him greeted him with a smile.
"Good evening, Cedric," Bruce responded.
The sorting ceremony had not yet begun, but the professors had already sat in their seats.
What surprised Bruce was that in addition to Professor Lupin, Hagrid was also sitting on it.
"Haven't you heard?"
At this time, Cedric smiled and said, "This year Hagrid will be Professor Newt's assistant. Maybe next year, he will be the one teaching the Care of Magical Creatures class."
Professor Newt entered Hogwarts last year, but since Protection of Magical Creatures was an elective course that only started in the third year, Bruce didn't have much interaction with the professor.
But this year is different.
Bruce took all the courses, so naturally he would take Professor Newt's class.
Speaking of Professor Newt——
"By the way, Bruce, have you taken the Care of Magical Creatures class this year?"
Cedric said, "I should have reminded you when you were choosing your courses last year that you must choose this course. It will definitely not make you feel at a disadvantage!"
"I chose him, but why do you recommend him so much?"
Bruce asked, "Does Professor Newt have any special teaching skills?"
"Since you have chosen, I will not reveal it."
Cedric laughed and said, "Just go ahead, I'll definitely give you a surprise."
At this moment, looking at Cedric, Bruce suddenly found something wrong.
"What's wrong with your face?"
Bruce pointed to his face and asked, "Why is there such a big bruise?"
He didn't notice it at first because Cedric had used makeup to cover the bruises, so he couldn't see it for a while.
Hearing Bruce's question, Cedric's eyes flashed with panic.
He hid it well, but Bruce still found out.
"Nothing." Cedric said, "I just fell accidentally, no need to worry."
"really?"
Bruce was a little suspicious. After taking a closer look, he found that the bruise was quite large.
Normal falls are not that serious.
It looks like he fell from a great height.
"I'm really fine." Cedric asked back, "Do you think I'm some kind of monster that can't bleed or get hurt?"
Not really.
Bruce shook his head and said, "I was overthinking it, but wizards usually use magic to cover up facial injuries, and putting on makeup is something Muggles would do.
"You come from a wizarding family, so I feel a little weird about that."
"Because I took the Muggle Studies class!" Cedric laughed, "It's normal for me to want to try some Muggle behaviors."
Bruce nodded. "That's good. I've heard of a weird guy who sleeps all day and doesn't fall asleep at night. He flies around the city disguised as a bat every day. When he first tried to fly, he would fall from the sky and get hurt all over his body."
Cedric's expression suddenly stiffened.
"Hahaha, Bruce, you're such a joker."
He laughed awkwardly and said, "I'm definitely not like him. Even if I have to contact bats, I'm more like a vampire, right?"
After saying that, he naturally changed the subject.
"By the way Bruce, how was your summer?"
"Not bad." Bruce thought about it and thought that being able to meet his mother should be considered not bad.
Then he asked Cedric, "What about you?"
"I'm not bad either."
Cedric said, "Except for a few pranks."
"What prank?" Bruce suddenly asked.
When he asked this question, Katum, who was pecking at the table out of boredom, suddenly stopped moving.
The owl took one step at a time and slowly disappeared from Bruce's sight.
"I don't know how to tell you."
Cedric recalled, "There were always packages sent to me by owls I didn't know, and there was no recipient written on the package, just my home address."
"What's in the package?" Bruce asked.
“They’re all very strange things.”
Cedric said, "The first time it was a test tube with a drop of green liquid in it, and the next three times were all metal fragments. I don't know what they were for."
Really…
Bruce suddenly understood everything, and he turned around to find Katum to ask for clarification.
You told me there was a way to solve the metal problem. Is this how you solved it?
But he could not find an owl anywhere.
It's long gone.
