Chapter 21 Her Husband Doesn't Allow
The process was interrupted by the unexpected incident. Zhang Ailun was in no mood to scrub his hair again. He rubbed it hastily twice and used a hair dryer to dry his hair. He rubbed the pink cloth a few more times and hung it back considerately.
Went downstairs.
Reina sat at the dining table with her legs crossed, holding her cell phone, and behaved dignifiedly, as if nothing had happened.
Seeing Zhang Ailun finished his shower, he waved with a smile, "Are you done? Come and try the dishes from your hometown to see if they suit your taste."
"These are all American Chinese food. There is no need to order so many things. They are expensive and taste bad. It's better to eat fast food." Zhang Ailun took a look at the food on the table and felt that he didn't recognize three of the four dishes.
"what is this?"
"General Tso's Chicken," Rena said after one look.
"If you hadn't told me, I would have thought it was half-finished sweet and sour pork with a few pieces of boiled broccoli..."
Zhang Ailun was speechless.
"What about this?"
“Beef with kale.”
"Then what is this?"
“Hot and sour soup.”
Zhang Ailun sat on the chair, took out his chopsticks and picked up a piece of something he didn't know was pork or chicken, put it in his mouth to taste it, and calmly gave a thumbs up.
American Chinese food.
Just eat it, and don't say a word while you eat.
"If it tastes good, just eat more."
Reina smiled and said, "This is all prepared for you."
Zhang Ailun was afraid of hearing this sentence.
I gritted my teeth and ate two bowls of rice.
I ate so much that my forehead was sweating.
It was the first time in my life that I tasted something so sweet, salty and sour. It was either too sweet or too sour. It was also the first time that I felt eating was such a painful experience.
Zhang Ailun swore that he would rather eat tasteless boiled chicken breast.
Reina also tasted a piece of chicken, and after eating it, she put down the spoon and didn't move.
Zhang Ailun immediately asked her, "Eat! Why don't you eat? A $15 plate of General Tso's chicken and boiled broccoli, and you're not going to eat it?"
“I don’t think it tastes good.”
Rena answered honestly.
"Very good, I also think it tastes terrible!"
Zhang Ailun smiled with relief, and immediately dropped his chopsticks and stopped forcing himself.
This proves that it’s not that his taste buds are damaged, but that this thing is pure American delicacy, and other dishes were not selected because they were not pure enough.
An American Chinese meal silenced these two lively and cheerful people.
What is the meal of recalling the bitter past and thinking of the sweet past.
Reina may be recalling the time when she was eating potatoes and black bread in her hometown.
“Don’t order it again! Just blacklist that Chinese restaurant!” Zhang Ailun suggested immediately.
"I have already done so."
Rena replied somewhat unhappily: "I spent $68 just to order something like this. I will never eat at that restaurant again."
I took out my phone and gave a bad review. As I wrote, I was spitting out sweet words, spitting Russian tongue-twisting sukhabre, and speaking in an incomprehensible dialect.
Look at the food you cooked, it’s so delicious that people are jealous!
The same goes for those local old white people, can they even eat this kind of thing?
You may never be able to eat four proper dishes in your life.
Reina stood up and took out two slices of bread from the refrigerator in the back kitchen, spread butter, pickle slices, and luncheon meat on them, and took a big bite.
"Give me a piece too. Thank you." Zhang Ailun looked at him eagerly.
Show your child that you are hungry.
The two of them began to chew their buttered bread in silence, their cheeks feeling a little sore.
Just had a sumptuous dinner.
Reina finished cleaning and thought she was done, but unexpectedly she took out a small basket of snacks and potato chips from the warehouse and waved to Zhang Ailun.
The two came to the empty second-floor balcony and sat on chairs.
Watching the sunset and feeling the cool breeze, each of us had a bag of chips, nuts, and sparkling water, and started to get ready.
Zhang Ailun wore sunglasses and lay on his back on a beach chair with his legs crossed. He commented like a wealthy landlord, "This nut is not very good. It's not as delicious as the cashews from Dandi that I ate before."
"What did you do before?" Reina looked at him suspiciously. What happened in the meantime that made you end up being a homeless person on the West Coast?
"Because I fell in love with a woman."
"Puff." Reina sprayed out a mouthful of soda. She instantly became interested and sat up straight, "Tell me, what happened?"
"She said I was the most handsome man in the world."
Reina fell silent.
"I kept that innocence for her and closed the door to loving others."
"It was this woman whom I loved so deeply who turned me into the dumbest man in the world."
"I take everything she says seriously. She said she loves my lips the most."
"My request was not high. I just wanted her to treat me well as before. But one day she said the same thing and hugged someone else..."
Reina was completely immersed in this love story, and her eyes were red with empathy.
He took out a tissue and wiped his tears, choking a little, "Then you must love that girl very much."
"I'm willing to give everything for her! But her family won't allow us to be together."
Zhang Allen sighed.
Reina immediately said seriously: "Love is a matter between two people. If you feel that you two are very happy together, there is no need to listen to other people's advice! Even if you experience the failure of your marriage in the future, it cannot erase the fact that you two once loved each other."
"Is it her father and brother who don't allow it, or her mother and sister who don't allow it?"
"It's her husband who doesn't allow it."
"..."
Zhang Ailun's words silenced Rena.
I stood there in a daze, feeling like my CPU was a little overheated.
The look in his eyes when he looked at Zhang Ailun also became strange.
But she soon realized from Zhang Ailun's laughter that the guy was lying to tease her.
"Very good! Alan! I just felt sorry for you for three seconds."
Reina stood up angrily, took out $40 from her pocket and threw it in his face.
With one hand on his waist, he pointed to the entrance of the shelter with the other hand, "Rest time is over, Alan, now, immediately, get out of my sight!!"
"I haven't finished eating yet..."
Zhang Ailun held a bag of potato chips with an innocent look on his face. Before he could finish his words, he saw Rena turn around, take out two bags of snacks from the box and threw them in his face.
"Take them and get away!" Reina scolded.
"Don't forget to take your damn tent with you!!"
Seeing that Reina was a little angry, Zhang Ailan immediately apologized.
"I was wrong, Reina, can you give me another chance... Hey!!"
The door of the shelter was slammed shut and locked from the inside. Reina turned and left, leaving him with only an international friendly gesture.
Zhang Ailun stood on the street with bags of snacks, looking speechless.
The next second, an unopened tent was thrown down from the second floor and hit him right in the arms.
It’s over. I’ve offended the financial sponsor and there will be no good consequences.
Zhang Ailun was kicked out and left helplessly, preparing to go home and set up camp.
The phone in his pocket also rang at this time. Zhang Ailun took a look and saw that it was a number he had dialed before. He answered it immediately and put it to his ear, "Hello?"
"Hey! Hi, I'm Catherine. Excuse me, is it you who found my wallet? Hamburg?"
Hamburger? Who?
Oh, it's me.
"Yes, it's me, you are Ms. Jon?" Zhang Ailun replied.
"Yes, it's me. Thank you so much for finding my wallet! And for being so kind as to inform me, sir. You are such a good person!"
The voice on the other end of the phone sounded a little excited.
"Excuse me, do you have time to return my wallet to me now? Or, where are you? Sir, I can drive to meet you."
Zhang Ailun took a look at the shelter and reported his current location and what he was wearing.
"Please wait there for a moment. I'll be there soon. It will take at most twenty minutes! But it's best to find an intersection with a traffic light so people can see you easily."
"OK." Zhang Ailun said.
"Thank you so much!!"
